Let them drink punch!

Ayyyyyeeeeee it's my birthday!

I don't have confetti cannons so #unicorn party punch will have to do for now.

I drank this with my breakfast and sorry but I'm not sorry. Birthdays are a big deal to me and I welcome all calories that come along with it. I don't want a birthday veggie platter shaped like a cake, I want cake!

I workout and stay active enough to indulge in the sweet powder from heaven called sugar when I want. I have the self control to know not to drink something like this everyday; then there would be a problem. But on birthdays, there are no problems! My husband saw my glass and said "I'm not mad at you, treat yourself!"

My mom made this drink at every special occasion; birthdays, holidays, graduations, baby showers and almost every event she put on. Oddly enough I never called it a unicorn drink until Starbucks made their Unicorn Frappuccino (never drank it, I hate coffee.) but it might as well be called unicorn party punch and that is what I will call it from now on. Ready to step up your get together beverage game? All you need is a few items

  • Sprite (cold)
  • Rainbow sherbet, this one is from Baskin Robbins
  • Glasses
  • Sugar if you want to get real fancy

For the fancy version pour sugar onto a small plate and water onto another. Dip the rim of the glass in the water then into the sugar to coat. Then put a small scoop of sherbet into your glass, pour Sprite in, lift glass and raise your pinky. You're officially the boss of beverages.

If you want a grown up version just swap Sprite for champagne. Don't ask me to recommend a good brand because I don't drink. Don't send me to the store for it either, I'll pick the bottle with the prettiest branding and it may taste like chalk. [shrugs]

We'll be having a housewarming party soon (New home owners!! Whoop!) and I'll be serving this so they better be ready. Stay tuned, more of my housewife chronicles to come.
